Retreats

  • 1. Maintain silence - This deepens your practice and benefits others. Speak only when necessary.

    2. Understand that Zen meditation cannot replace psychiatric treatment - If you suffer from severe mental difficulties, seek professional help instead.

    3. Disconnect from the outside world - Avoid using mobile phones, personal computers, or any communication equipment during the retreat.

    4. Be punctual - Observe the exact timings for all practices, Dharma Talks, Chanting, and meals.

    5. Respect the signal of the chukpi (bamboo clapper) - Avoid entering the Meditation Hall after the chukpi has been hit, except when returning from an interview.

    6. Engage fully in walking meditation - Consider it an essential part of your Zen practice. Join the session unless absolutely necessary to miss it.

    7. Attend all practice periods - If you're unable to attend due to illness, inform the person in charge before the practice period begins.

    8. Intoxicants and Drugs - No drugs, alcohol, or sedatives are permitted. No smoking or drinking at any time.

    9. Health - If you have any physical discomfort or health problems, please inform the person in charge.

Following these rules will facilitate your practice and create a peaceful, supportive environment for all practitioners.

    Clothings

A loose top in shades of white or grey, combined with matching long, loose trousers, would be the preferred attire.

Please bring enough clothes according to your needs.

    Food

We are unable to cater to the specific dietary needs of each participant. In order to ensure fairness and consistency, we kindly request all attendees to adhere to the provided simple, vegetarian menu. The introduction of additional food items is, unfortunately, not permissible. Your understanding and cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated.

    Accommodation

The retreat offers shared rooms with floor cushions. Attendees are invited to bring their own sleeping bags for added comfort.
